A clean counter is the visible benefit of cable management. The less visible benefit is reliability. A protected cable is less likely to be pulled, pinched, twisted or disconnected when the stand moves and the device is serviced.
Goochain plans cable routing during the mechanical concept stage. This allows the stand, enclosure, connector and custom cable to support each other instead of competing for the remaining space.
Confirm connector orientation, insertion space and the direction the cable naturally leaves the device. Right-angle, up-angle or down-angle connectors may reduce the envelope, but the correct direction depends on the actual installation.
Swivel, tilt and flip stands change cable length and bend. The route needs enough controlled slack without creating loops that catch on the base. Rotation stops or slip-ring solutions may be considered according to the required movement and electrical architecture.
The connector should not carry pulling force from the external cable. Clamps, overmolds, channels and anchor points transfer load to the structure. Internal short cables need the same attention around reader modules and docking contact boards.
Cable covers and hidden channels should open in a defined sequence. Goochain reviews whether the cable can be replaced without removing the tablet, base or unrelated electronics, and whether the correct part can be identified by a label or keyed connector.
