Security is not one lock added to the end of a design. The enclosure, fasteners, base, cable route and service procedure all determine how easily a device can be removed or damaged.
Goochain works with the customer to define who is allowed to open the hardware, what tools they have and how quickly legitimate service must be completed.
Options include concealed screws, keyed locks, tamper-resistant fasteners, controlled slide mechanisms and internal retention. The structure should resist normal pulling without placing load on the tablet port or screen.
A strong device enclosure on an unsecured weighted base may still be easy to remove. Bolt-down, adhesive, cable tether, wall or integrated kiosk mounting offer different levels of deterrence. The installation surface and removal tools must be part of the specification.
Reader cables, USB connectors and power adapters are frequent weak points. Hidden channels, strain relief and covered fasteners reduce casual interference. A detachable reader module can still be serviceable while using a separate release accessible only to staff.
If every repair requires destroying adhesive or disassembling a full kiosk, service cost rises quickly. Goochain reviews the approved access sequence during prototype testing and can provide separate service and user instructions.
Tell Goochain the site, threat level, authorized service method and installation surface. We can build security into the enclosure and mount instead of treating it as an accessory.
