A system that includes a tablet, reader, hub and charging dock can fail even when each individual part has a suitable rating. The complete power path has to support simultaneous operation, startup behavior, conversion losses and temperature limits.
Goochain asks customers to define the operating state, not only the headline wattage. This is especially important for multi-bay stations and PoE-powered tablet installations.
Record the tablet, reader, scanner, hub, indicator, PCBA and any spare output. Identify which loads operate together and whether the system charges while running. Peak, steady and standby conditions may need different checks.
The adapter, PoE source, converter, connector, PCB, cable and Pogo Pin contacts all contribute resistance and heat. A high-rated source does not guarantee that the device receives the required power through an undersized contact or cable.
A five-bay station should be evaluated with the intended number of devices charging together. Enclosure airflow, ambient temperature, regional adapter and cable bundle can change the result.
Define voltage/current behavior, charging state, temperature points, duration and device configuration. Goochain records the tested sample, power source and operating mode so the result remains tied to the approved design.
